Driving Lesson

Taken from the Utah Driver Hand Book Page 14-15
"The following situations are times when you must make a complete stop:
4. If a school bus is displaying alternating flashing red light signals visible from the front or rear, and you are:
b. Traveling on a two-lane roadway, traffic in both directions is required to stop." I totally thought you only had to stop if you were behind the bus. But a really loud HONK this morning caused me to look the bus rules up.

"NOTE: School bus drivers may report vehicles that improperly pass school buses. The report may be forwarded to the local law enforcement agency for investigation. Fines range from $100 to $500; and remember; a conviction for passing a school bus illegally usually means an increase in insurance rates." Great, just what I need a $100-$500 fine and a higher monthly insurance rate. Since I did commit the crime, I can only hope that the bus driver didn't write down the information.
I really didn't realize traffic in BOTH directions was required to stop. I felt pretty bad about not stopping when I got the large honk. It was a feeling of guilt and shame for not realizing what I was doing wrong. But let my pain be a lesson for you. I am sure from now on I will be totally anal about stopping when the red lights on busses are flashing.

Wow, I didn't remember ANY of that. I guess I need to do some serious hand book reviewing.

Also, I LOVE your blog's new look. Very artsy and cool.

I wonder how well I'd score for a traffic theory test in the States...
After reading this piece of blog I'm quite convinced I'd fail worse than a brick trying to swim...
