Clean Coal?

Clean Coal, what is this exactly?
I got this link from a friend. It says that capturing carbon emissions is possible, but that the technology is NOT here yet. MIT says maybe in 2030. Seems a little early for presidential candidates to get any kind of votes from promising it. OH well we'll see tonight what is gonna happen.

I think its supposed to burn cleaner thus resulting in less pollution released into the atmosphere, but I have no idea how that is accomplished. I'm all about solar energy baby.

It's accomplished by chemically washing and purifying the minerals before they get burned, thus resulting in a theoretical 'cleaner burn'.

I'm not very happy with the promotion of this technology though.. It still means we want keep robbing the earth from it's resources... And nobody even has a clue on how much cleaner that burning of coal would be...

In my humble opinion, it seems a much brighter idea to invest in research and technology development of solar power, windpower, waterpower, etc....

It's like some politicians just don't listen to science and environment specialists...

But then again, some science and environment specialists just don't listen to eachother neither...
